Epipedia

Role of complete combined diet in refractory epilepsy

Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological conditions, around 30-40% of people with epilepsy fall under the category of drug-resistant epilepsy, also called as refractory epilepsy.

Currently, there is no proven solution available to these areas but doctors try to reduce the seizure frequency through dietary modifications, surgical treatments, and vagus nerve stimulation.

While the dietary therapies are the best 1st line option, they are very difficult to comply and even if dietary therapy is strictly complied, seizure control will improve but the cognitive decline cannot be stopped.

Keeping the limitations of adherence in mind we have specially designed “epipedia” , which is a complete combined diet which improves compliance, reduce seizures and also improve cognition in children with refractory epilepsy.
